H1N1 memo - October 28, 2009
ATTENTION ALL MINOR HOCKEY COACHES, MANAGERS, PARENTS AND PLAYERS
Due to the Risks of the H1N1 virus and the increasingly rising numbers of absences in schools, and recent news events, it is time to set some rules around hand shaking and water bottles to try and keep our children safe.
Effective immediately:
1. Players must keep their gloves on after a game and just touch gloves rather than shake hands.
COACHES ARE EXPECTED TO SUPERVISE TO ENSURE THIS IS HAPPENING.
2. All players are to use ONLY their own water bottle. Bottles are to be sterilize after every game or disposed of. Water bottles are the responsibility of the players and parents. Coaches are not to carry water bottle to games. All bottles are to be labeled with players names.
3. Equipment should be washed at home as often as possible.
4. Wash your hands often. Players are to be reminded by coaches and parents.
Thank you
